"Breaking Rules in DevOps: 10 best practices we broke, and 5 we followed." Ned will share architecture and operations lessons learned while building a cloud-scale infrastructure service. We'll explore when it might make sense to violate common DevOps practices. Why not use a load-balancer in front of your most critical services? Why not use indexes on your database? And who would embrace testing in production?? This talk will include technical details, yet useful for a general audience.
