Just yesterday, October 25, Built in Colorado published their 2016 list of the Top 100 Digital Companies in Colorado.
Companies are ranked based on local, full-time employee count and this year’s list of companies alone employs 21,000 people. This is a 15% increase from last year, which landed at 18,400 employees. The list reflects not only our growth as a state, but also our diverse tech industry, listing all types of tech companies in the top 100.
Governor John Hickenlooper recognized the importance of the tech landscape in Colorado, crediting them as “major players” in our economy and creating thousands of jobs. He said,
“We’re seeing more and more big tech companies, like Gusto and Personal Capital, investing in Colorado to help keep this exciting momentum going. And our homegrown companies, like Log Rhythm and Ibotta, continue to have significant growth. Colorado’s own Galvanize is another great example of a homegrown company that is flourishing—raising significant capital and expanding to their ninth national campus."
Coming in at #1 was Arrow Electronics, a global electronic component and computer related product distributor with 1,800 Colorado employees. Coming in at #2, and ranking one position better than last year, is home improvement-database, HomeAdvisor. Home Advisor has seen some awesome growth this year, and currently employs 1,334 Coloradans.
According to Built in Colorado, the biggest jump in rank came from Denver- based Gutcheck, a market research solution, who jumped 33 spots in the list since 2015, up to #39.
Other notable companies include Zayo Group (#7) with 682 Colorado employees, HealthGrades (#18), SendGrid (#21), Cherwell Software (#25), ReadyTalk (#29), Ibotta (#30), and Craftsy (#32).
